ΑΨΩ Land of Lola ΑΨΩ, also known as Alpha Psi Omega, is a co-ed theatre fraternity at Texas State University. I had an interest in joining a fraternity when I transferred in Spring 2017, except I had to wait a whole semester. When it came to the Fall 2017 semester, I did not know what fraternity to join, but I did know it was not going to be a Greek one. I finally came to a decision to join a theatre fraternity because it started me trying to form a musical theatre club. Still, when I emailed the head of the department, she told me that I might have an interest in Alpha Psi Omega. I knew some friends who were already in it to get their opinions, and I liked what they had to say, so I decided to give it a chance. As I was waiting for an email to an interest meeting, I realized that I was too late and emailed the Pledge Official. Soul of a Man ΑΨΩ ended up invited me to a meeting after the Pledge Official said that I could still pledge, and it was not too late. I had made it to the next round and made the decision to pledge in the background because of my busy schedule. The following week came, and I got assigned a BIG but did not know who they were until the end of everything. My BIG gave me the first task that I had to complete and got one every week until several weeks passed. My theme was assigned to me after I had to submit a plate full of things that I like and enjoy, they chose the Broadway musical Kinky Boots. As we were crossing emails for my tasks, I had to be in character and became Lola, while my BIG was Charlie. The History of Wrong Guys ΑΨΩ has a special place in my heart because of the memories I developed along the way. The friends I already knew, and the new friends that I became closer with went on many new adventures with me that I got to explore. My BIG was actually one of my new friends that I got to meet and did not even realize it until the reveal because he could not say anything. The day before, I had actually told him about my whole journey into getting into the fraternity, and he did not tell me anything because it was meant to be a secret. I ended up getting another BIG because she was close friends with my actual one. The memories I cherished were the tasks I had to complete, my BIGs decorating my dorm room door and attending the Winter Formal, with my friend Stefany, after the end of everything because I was finally a member.
